Richard Young and the Art of the Deal — 1 Comment

  1. Dear Richard,
You probably don’t remember me from high school as we didn’t know each other very well, but I remember you as the best violinist in our school! In fact, just for fun I thought I would Google your name and see if you continued to play professionally. Then I came across this beautiful article. I became more and more excited the more I read – not just about the international musical celebrity you have become, but the human aspects of sharing your talents with others the way you have. I am so proud to have known you and I just wanted you to know that your name has been etched in my mind as “the best violinist in our school” all these years, and now I know the rest of the story! I, too, chose music as a career (or it chose me!), only I became a choral director and have loved every minute of it. My wife, Molly, and I live near Charlottesvile, VA. Can you believe you and I graduated 50 years ago?! I can’t tell you how much it has meant to me to come across this article. Congratulations to you for your wonderful success, and especially for what sounds like such a generous and good nature.
It’s been great talking with you!
    Jeff Suling
